Glow Makeup Workshop

Achieving luminous skin has never been this hot! (but nothing will still beat the Manila heat!) Call it what you want, the glass skin or the dewy dumpling is the look you would want to try right now. Last May, I had my first solo makeup workshop, no collaborations, just me and my slight obsession with the glow.

This is the glass skin look I did for a bridal shoot that I wanted to teach my students:

The key to glowing skin happens before the makeup. I use a serum or an essence and a moisturiser on dry areas of the face, avoiding the naturally oily parts of the skin and areas with large pores. I top it off with a light to medium coverage foundation, use a cream blush, and add a generous amount of highlighter. I dust powder only on my t-zone and sides of the nose. Voila! I get a fresh and glowing base!

I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the success of this workshop and all our generous sponsors, this event will not be possible without you. Thanks Calyxta for lending us your cool space once again. It’s always a safe makeup haven for us! Thank you Belo for our gift cards, it will surely  help our participants achieve glowing skin. Belo helped me clear my forehead bumps. Thank you Nuxe for the goodie bag and your continuos support. I’m happy that our winners will get to try your famous dry oil. It’s my favorite post shower oil before I go to bed! It smells divine and keeps the skin soft. Thank you Benefit for the fab goodies and prizes. My participants are always happy to receive goodies from you. Thank you Boggy for assisting the ladies and for being my co-makeup artist. Thank you Cathy Ang for always taking lovely photos. Thanks Olga for being so nice to work with. Last but not least, thanks Little Red Riding Hood styling for our summer backdrop!

Happy Beautylista

My very first makeup workshop, Happy Beautylista, was held last June 3, 2017.  I taught my students different makeup techniques to achieve a natural look and my co-facilitator and life coach friend, Kimi Lu, took care of nurturing their inner beauty through positive thinking and feel good exercises. My students learned basic makeup and were very eager to learn about contouring, highlighting, and shaping the eyebrows — well, because kilay is life and of course everyone wants to look slim, sculpted, and glowing at the right places!

We were so happy with the outpour of support given to us by our generous sponsors. We would like to thank Calyxta, Benefit, L’oreal, Rudy Project, Fitness 360, illuminate ph, and  Lifestyle Salon by Louis Philip Kee for the gift certificates and goodies for all our participants! It was a such a fun, light, and feel good afternoon that was all about makeup and good vibes! We actually had to extend the workshop because everyone was so eager to learn! Thank you queen of protons for pushing me to do this! We would also  like to thank our very first batch of happy beautylistas for attending the workshop! All of you made Kimi and I very happy!

Hermès

Hermès is the epitome of luxurious fashion. I enjoyed this shoot we did for Inquirer Lifestyle featuring their resort pieces! I wanted to get everything from this line, if only I had the moolah – many many moolah. lol! But alas, this is a close as I can get to this luxurious line for now. Our model Alaiza Malinao, a statuesque AsNTM model with legs for days, slayed during the shoot! This fashion editorial was photographed by Gabriel Pe, and styled by Luis Carlo San Juan. Hairstyle by Mong Amado and make-up by yours truly! 🙂
