In my most recent workshop, I combined two of my favorite interests — makeup and wine! It’s not your usual pairing, but when you bring a bunch of women together to learn about makeup and drink wine, you know it’s going to be fun! I collaborated with Rox Lee of Artisan Cellar Door and we brought Manila’s first French wine tasting and makeup workshop. Our participants learned about French beauty, which focuses more on skin care and keeping things fresh and natural, definitely nothing over the top! Despite not being included in the usual French makeup routine, I also added basic contouring as requested by my participants. I did a makeup demonstration first (before anyone got tipsy. lol) and then challenged my participants to focus on just one facial feature, either the lips or the eyes, and keep everything else natural. Our participants also got to taste different kinds of Bordeaux wine and learn about it as well. Lourds gave us basic bordeaux wine information and taught us how to broaden our wine options and go beyond just ordering the restaurant’s house wine. Towards the end of the workshop, giggles turned into laughter, new friendships were formed, and the atmosphere became happier and more relaxed, those are definitely effects of the combination of wine and makeup!
I would like to thank all our sponsors for their generosity. Thanks Nuxe for indulging our participants with a cute travel size bottle of huile prodigieuse — my favourite after bath oil, it nourishes my skin and it smells absolutely divine. Nuxe is definitely one of the best French skin care brands out there. Thanks Bobbi Brown for the cream blush that will surely give our participants a rosy glow. Thanks Origins for sending your brand’s best selling skin care treatment and mask. Last but not least, thanks L’oreal for the mascaras and lip balms! This event would not be as successful without your support. I am forever grateful!
